“This is one of those songs I’ve been carrying for many years but could never figure out where it fit,” says David Ward about Feel it Now, the latest single from his cinematic and soulful new album, Violet, Gold + Rose.

With a lush string arrangement by Elliot Vaughan and a lyrical warmth about living for the moment and loving for the lifelong, Feel it Now moves in the spirit of classic, feel-good, mid-tempo soul.

“I got a push to put this out as a single from a friend of mine who runs a cover band I play in that has the 3-time award winning honour of ‘Best Wedding Band in BC.’ That’s right, I’m a wedding singer,” Ward jokes. “He said I’d be a fool not to put this out as a single.”

Recording to tape and working with lauded grammy-winning engineer, Russell Elevado (D'Angelo, The Roots, Al Green,  Erykah Badu) the song takes on a quality reminiscent of 70s Stevie Wonder gems like Isn’t She Lovely and I Love Every Little Thing About You. The self-dubbed “analogue warrior,” Elevado is famous for his "old school" mixing techniques and preference for using vintage equipment.

“I have always loved playing this song live and I’m glad I’ve finally found a home for it on this album,” says Ward.
